These Eco Maximus elephant dung stationery folder sets are full of colour and fun. They are made from 75% elephant dung and 25% recycled paper and make a great quirky but practical gift. They are fairly traded and handmade by skilled artisans in Sri Lanka by the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust. They contain 10 sheets of paper and 5 ungummed envelopes and come with a natural tea wood pencil. Please note, due to the handmade nature of these products the design may vary slightly. The process of making elephant dung paper is a little different to making handmade paper! The fibres are pulped by the elephant, instead of by hand or machine, whilst they are digesting, then the readymade pulp comes out the back! The elephant dung is collected and then vigorously boiled with margosa leaves, which are a natural disinfectant, then made into paper after mixing with 25% recycled paper.
